Reclaiming Your Light
Every living thing on this earth contains light. I believe this to be the Light of Christ. We are born filled with this light; we bring it with us to this earth. Think about how open and loving little children are. They find joy in even the very small things; their eyes are filled with light.
Our experiences and the way we choose to react and respond to them impacts our light. Some experiences snuff it out, others rekindle it.
When we experience things that dim our light our vision becomes clouded. Sometimes the light fades so slowly that we don’t notice until we are in a deep fog, until we feel like we are wearing lead shoes as we travel life’s roads. We lose the ability to see purpose. It may become so dark that it feels like life isn’t worth living. Sometimes it feels like it would be better if it just ended.
But then there are experiences that rekindle our light. We feel some joy or elation about an event; maybe a simple song or movie inspires us. These are the experiences we crave. In these moments our light begins to glow brighter. We feel greater joy and happiness; we want to continue to drink from that small cup of light. Our path becomes clearer and we develop greater understanding about where we want to go and what we want to do.
I have traveled the dark and lonely road of life and have found freedom in choosing to live in the light. Here, I am sharing my healing journey with you in the hope that it may help you along your path to Reclaiming your Light.
